The difference between them is that the Psy D. is awarded by doing clinical experiences and exam while the Ph.D by doing a dissertation. However, the career opportunity for the Ph.D are less flexible.

Psychologist must be certified and licensed in the state they want to pursue in. Most of the exams are standardized test but some state required applicants to pass essay or oral exams. For example, clinical psychologists receive training about many types of psychological therapies depends on the range of the clients, their psychology disorders or a certain age group.

The risk when you're a psychologist is that they're possibilities of showing too much compassion, and it could retaliate because we start taking the problems home. This could further cause problems in our personal lives.
