school

Psychology at Ahuntsic College.

After getting accepted in Psychology at Ahuntsic College, I started meeting some new people in the same program as me. One of them, Julia, asked me if I wanted to go to a party that they launch for the new students. Should I go or should I stay at home, since my next course starts at 8 a.m. tomorrow?

The program my mother wanted ''pure and applied science''

After I successfully get into the program my mother wanted me to study, I tried to find some interest in it, but it was hard because I was struggling a lot in the course related to my field of study, like my math and science classes. I had a very hard time not thinking about the fact that I should have followed my heart and do as I wanted. After months of trying to work it out, I finally decided to quit the program.

Choice 1 : What program?

sad

Go with Julia at the party.

I went to the party with Julia, she introduced me to her friends, and they were really nice to me! We had some drinks, danced and played some silly games like truth or dare. By the time, I realized that it started to get late and when I checked, it was already 4 a.m. in the morning. I panicked and told Julia that I have to go back home as soon as possible. I called an Uber and headed home. I passed out as soon as I was in my bed and didn't wake up in time. My mom was so pissed! She said I wasn't mature enough to go at college this semester and told me to work on myself before taking this decision. So, I did it and canceled my session.

party

Stay at home.

So, I decided to not go at the party and go to sleep early for my class of tomorrow morning. However, the next day when I arrived at school, everyone was talking about the party that I missed. I tried to fit in, by talking about another subject, but no one really cared. I started to feel a little rejected. Should I stay in the class or leave and find a more peaceful place?

Choice 1 : Go on a walk and discovered a new interest.

Choice 2 : I stayed in class and focusing on my study

rejected

Go on a walk and discovered a new interest.

Since I decided to leave school, I went around for a walk and used it to discover my school's surrounding. As I was wandering the area, I found a little artsy shop and decided to stop by. As soon as I stepped my foot into the store, I fell in love with the beauty of this place. There was many beautiful paintings, decorations and everyone looked so cool. I always had a strong attachment to art, especially painting. So, I really felt like I belonged here. As I was walking through this hidden museum, a really nice girl that works here asked me if I needed any help. We exchanged for about 15 minutes about our mutual loves for art. She gave me her number and told me her name was May. She also told me that if I ever wanted to join their team, I would be more than welcomed. Should I follow my heart and call her?

Choice 1 : I decide to call May.

Choice 2 : I go back to school

I decide to call May.

After a long night of deciding whether or not I should call May, I finally decided to do it. We spoke on the phone, and she was more than happy to tell me that I could start working with her tomorrow. I told her that, since I'm a student, I could only work part-time after school. May told me that this was not an issue, and that I should, of course, prioritize my studies. I liked the fact that she was so comprehensive and nice. I felt like May was the friend I always hoped to have, even though I just met her. The next day, after school, I rushed to my new job. May told me the basics of my duties, and I was fine with it. During our lunch break, we did a little painting contest and had a lot of fun. I started hanging out with her more and more during my free time, and it started to show in my grades at school. Should I tell her we need to stop hanging out so much?

Choice 1 : I go back to school.

Choice 2 : Telling May we should stop hanging out so often

girls

I stayed in class.

I decided to go back at my place and focusing on what was important, which means not being disturbed by such a thing as high school party. During the session, I learned a lot about how much I loved this program, and I didn't regret to not pursue in Pure and Applied science. I had a really great start, my grades were higher than my expectations and my mom was really proud of me during my journey! I was still sad that I didn't get the chance to create some meaningful connection with the other students, but as long as I get to be at the university that I want to, which is Concordia University it doesn't really matter at the end.

Choice 1 : Stay at home.

I go back to school.

I decided to go back to school, but I was just thinking about the opportunity I just missed. I started to lose interest in my program and my grades really went down. I didn't feel any motivation anymore, and I dropped out of school despite my effort.

Choice 1 : Go on a walk and discovered a new interest.

Telling May we should stop hanging out.

I was really scared to confront May about my issue. I told her we should stop hanging out because my grades went down, and I only wished of being with her instead of focusing on my studies. She told me that she understood, but thought it was not a good idea to stop being friends. May told me that we could see each other still, and she would help me study and get back on track with school. I thought it was an amazing idea, so we started going on study dates and my grades had never been so great. I had the best out of both worlds: I was doing good at school and my mom was really proud of me, and I got to still hang out a lot with my best friend. We still talked about art and painted every so often. My life was finally fulfilled.
